What is Chiropractic

Chiropractors are primary health care providers that assess and treat problems caused by joints, muscles and nerves. Treatment typically involves manual therapy, therapeutic machines (ie. ultrasound, IFC), acupuncture and instruction without surgery or medication.

What to expect at the first visit

The first visit will include a thorough health history and physical exam directed at the chief complaint. The purpose of the health history and physical exam is to establish a comprehensive picture of the patient, which allows the doctor to treat the patient as a whole and provide the best possible care.

The patient will be provided with report of findings and plan of management that is unique to each patient’s needs. This assessment followed by treatment will last approximately 1 hour. Follow up appointment will be 15-30 minutes depending on the plan of management.

What can my Chiropractor do for me?

Chiropractic care can improve your overall health and wellness by increasing muscle and joint function and nerve flow. Chiropractic can help increase range of motion and flexibility. Chiropractors can work with patients to improve their athletic performance by movement pattern correction and specific muscle activation training. The final and most important aspect of chiropractic is prevention. It is our goal to work with patients to improve their initial complaint and through education, exercise and lifestyle changes prevent recurrence and new complaints.
