Gracie Hvidston is a board certified Shiatsu Therapist, Reiki Master/Teacher and Awakened Life Coach. Gracie received her Master/Teacher designation in the Usui Reiki System in 2001. This peeked her interest in Eastern medicine and led her to peruse the Japanese therapy, Shiatsu.

Gracie graduated with honours from the Shiatsu School of Canada, Toronto and was awarded the Masunaga Award for outstanding work in the community in 2004. The Shiatsu School of Canada offers one of the highest levels of shiatsu education and training outside of Japan. Studies include western sciences such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, kinesiology, ethics and business. Eastern medical theory, TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) theory and practice, meridians, clinical study and practice, Cupping and Moxabustion. Gracie is a current member of the Shiatsu Therapy Association of Ontario and has resided on the board of directors, chairing the Disciplinary Committee.

Ongoing education and training is important to Gracie. She has gone on to study Cranial Sacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute and became an Awakened Life Coach studying with Jennifer Hough, Mastery Training at the Wide Awakening. Working in the retail health field for 5 years, Gracie has had the opportunity to expand her knowledge of nutrition, vitamins and mineral supplements having trained with many formulators, Naturopathic Dr.'s and experts from the top supplement company's in North America.

"Ease and Flow" have become a daily mantra for Gracie. A mother of two wonderful children and having journeyed through divorce, she understands the busy-ness and challenges of life. We work and so we must also play to create balance for ease and flow in our lives. For many years she enjoyed volunteering in schools, church and various organizations in the Simcoe County area such as Scouts and Beavers. Today, Gracie is the Assistant Music Director for the Barrie Steel Orchestra where she teaches, arranges music and plays tenor pan. This not-for-profit organization is where Gracie can give back to the community. “Life is truly good… We just have to let good find us.”

Gracie has a special interest in Geriatrics, senior care and companionship. Over the last 10 years she has had the privilege and opportunity to work our seniors and understand their needs and goals. For some, shiatsu and reiki have helped to ease everyday chronic pain such as rheumatoid arthritis and insomnia. For others, circulation in the legs, balance and mobility and flexibility have benefited from shiatsu and reiki treatments. Gracie is happy to offer Mobile for Seniors, a service for those who are homebound and unable to travel.
