Barrie Micro Needling

eDermaStamp© by Dermaroller - The Gold Standard in Microneedling

MICRONEEDLING uses tiny surgical-grade needles to penetrate the layers of the skin to improve overall health of the tissue and reverse the signs of aging. This therapy promotes skin repair, reduces appearance of wrinkles, stretch marks, pigmentation, scars and uneven texture (by stimulating the body’s own healing mechanisms).

Vitality Health offers e-Dermastamp micro-pen, the only Health Canada approved microneedling device, and the latest advancement in automated Microneedling, otherwise known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). The skin has a tremendous ability to heal itself by producing proteins, collagen fibers and elastin, which work synergistically together to keep the skin firm, strong, supple and healthy. Unfortunately, as we age, this ability decreases and over time we see the signs of aging. The e-Dermastamp uses powerful medical grade technology to harness the skin’s natural healing capabilities to combat the aging process and efficiently restore your skin health and glow!

Microneedling or CIT is derived from the ancient practice of acupuncture and mesotherapy. During the treatment the e-Dermastamp creates controlled micro channels deep within the epidermis and dermis. The micro wounds stimulate fibroblasts and encourage the body to release platelets and growth factors, triggering the natural healing process. The body responds by producing more collagen and elastin which generate new skin cells, thus improving the integrity of the skin resulting in stronger, thicker, softer, and plumper skin.

In addition to Collagen Induction Therapy, the micro channels produced by the procedure allow topical gels and serums to be applied more effectively into the skin for further healing and skin rejuvenation. We use sterile Hyaluronic acid during the procedure to optimize your results.

The e-Dermastamp used at Vitality Health allows penetration of the needles from 0.25mm – 1.5 mm. The depth and speed of the device is adjusted to ensure maximum results, and provide skin remodeling treatments to a number of areas including face, neck, décolletage, arms, hands or abdomen.

By stimulating your skin's natural ability to heal itself, this procedure is a safe and effective treatment for:

  • Skin rejuvenation
  • Thickening the dermis and epidermis
  • Scar reduction
  • Acne scarring
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Hair loss therapy*
  • Pore size reduction
  • Stretch Marks
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Skin tightening
  • Improving skin tone

* When used with a DHT blocking serum and at-home treatments

The Dermaroller e-dermastamp® causes minimally invasive precision micro-injuries of the epidermis and dermis, without causing open wounds or ablative damage. The puncturing channels close after a short time and these micro-injuries trigger the body’s wound healing cascade, which induces an increased collagen production in the treated skin. This process triggers the creation of new tissue by stimulating healthy cell regeneration in precision-targeted areas that show the signs of aging. It effectively reduces wrinkles, tightens and thickens the skin, and – perhaps most impressively – fills and smooths scars.*

What Does It Feel Like?
Numbing cream is applied prior to the treatment. The feeling associated with the e-Dermastamp is similar to light sandpaper being moved across the skin. While some areas are more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating needle tip reduces discomfort while the applied hydrating gel also makes the treatment more tolerable. Most patients rate the discomfort at 2 out of 10.
How Long Does The Procedure Take?
The procedure takes approximately 15-20 minutes depending on the size of the area treated. The entire appointment is between 60-75min to allow application of post-treatment mask.
What Is The Downtime?
Immediately after the treatment you may notice a bright redness to the skin. The total healing time depends on the depth of needles used and the number of overlapping passes your skincare professional performs. Please discuss the healing time with your provider. Redness may linger 24-48 hrs (potentially more for hyper-sensitive skin).
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Some patients may only require a single treatment once per year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 2-3 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars, it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 4-6 week intervals.
What Distinguishes Microneedling From Other Treatments Such As Laser?
As a non-ablative treatment, Microneedling with the e-Dermastamp does not remove the top layer of the skin. Certain lasers used repeatedly over time can damage fibroblast cells and lead to a thinner epidermis. Collagen Induction Therapy may help to increase the thickness of the skin and repair this damage. There is little to no downtime with microneedling. The recovery is usually quick, it can be performed on all skin colours and types, it can be performed year round, and its primary mechanism is the body’s natural healing process.
